November 17th, 2021
At the beginning of the November, a reinforced concrete underpass structure of 1200 tonnes was successfully jacked under the railway line in Kidričevo (Talum industrial track). Construction was previously built outside the railway area and then, after the closure of line and removing the embankment, pushed into final position. We moved the underpass for 21,55m in just 8hours.

Ranca viaduct - another incremental launching completedFebruary 19th, 2021
Freyssinet Adria team successfully completed incremental launching of Ranca viaduct, with the final, 38,25 meters long pulling stage. The viaduct designed as continuous prestressed concrete structure is 206 m long and 12,3 m wide. Typical spans are 37 m long. Deck construction was executed in 11 stages of typical length of 18,5 meters. The vertical radius of the viaduct resulted in bigger part of the bridge pointing downwards, which represented an additional challenge. The behaviour of the structure in the last launching stage confirmed the pre-calculation, which indicated the need to protect the structure against slipping in the direction of launching. Slippage in the direction of launching was successfully prevented by pre-activating the braking beam. Together with our client, Pomgrad d.d., we performed all launching stages on a weekly basis despite winter weather conditions.

Prestressed slabs for first IKEA store in SloveniaMay 19th, 2020 The first IKEA store in Slovenia is being built in Ljubljana BTC City and Freyssinet Adria was there to help make it happen. At the beginning of May 2020, we successfully completed the last prestressing of the floor slabs and beams. For slabs we used F-Range 1F15 system (unbonded greased sheathed strand) and for beams C-Range system 7C15 and 12C15 (bonded steel strands in corrugated metal sheath injected with cement grout after tensioning). In total, we installed and prestressed 41 tonnes of steel strands, for post-tensioned concrete slabs on more than 10000 square meters of total area, which was divided into 10 concreting stages. Basic spans for slabs were 8x12 m and 12x12 m, higher loads were taken with prestressed beams, without additional support, which is always the tendency of the architect.
The construction was accompanied by two special circumstances: First one is the declared epidemic of COVID-19, due to which we took appropriate medical measures, to ensure that the work was carried out continuously and, to our delight, without complications. Second special circumstance was the high number of subcontractors executing the slabs, which required increased coordination and organization of work. Nevertheless, we successfully completed our part of the project in four months.

External reinforcement of the Starše - Prepolje bridgeMay 15th, 2020
In March, we successfully completed work on the Starše - Prepolje bridge over the Zlatoličje HPP supply channel. The bridge over 3 fields consists of prestressed free-standing prefabricated beams - 5 per span. The rehabilitation works included the renewal and monolithization of the superstructure and replacing the bearings. Work on the bridge was started by the main contractor RGP in 2019. During the rehabilitation - removal of damaged parts, it was found out that the prestressed cables in the prefabricated beams were more damaged, as they predicted. For this reason, the designer proposed a change in the method of reconstruction, namely additional layer of concrete on beams and the implementation of additional external prestressing cables. Based on the designer's calculations, Freyssinet Adria prepared a proposal for the implementation of additional prestressing, execution plans and then delivered and installed all elements of external prestressed cables. Despite the unfavorable time period, the works were successfully completed. Freyssinet Adria also supplied elastomeric bearings for the entire bridge (type BC according to EN1337 / 3 in CR version).

41st Conference of Civil Engineers of Slovenia
November 12th, 2019
The 41st Conference of Civil Engineers of Slovenia, organized by SDGK, member of the IABSE - International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering, took place on 7 and 8 November, 2019 in Bled, Slovenia.
Again this year, Freyssinet Adria SI, d.o.o. participated with a company booth to exhibit our services and among 34 interesting professional and scientific papers, which were categorized into several thematic sections, our engineers co-authored two of them: Design and construction of the viaduct Sejanca, which presents the history of design, construction and final solution of the viaduct Sejanca on the main road G1-2 Hajdina – Ormož and Repair of structural bearings of steel bridge over the ricer Savinja in km 522+446 railway line Laško – Celje.
Take a look at some of the highlights of this year's conference.

Successfully completed incremental launching of the Sejanca viaduct
September 13th, 2019
Freyssinet Adria team successfully completed incremental launching of the Sejanca viaduct at the end of August 2019 for the main contractor Pomgrad d.d.. The new viaduct represents the first section of the future highway Ormož – Ptuj, which is to be built in the coming years.
The 195 meters long and 12 meters wide deck crosses a double-track railway and the Sejanca brook over six spans in total. The deck was built in 11 stages with a typical length of 17,5 meters and was pulled upwards into 3,43 % incline with aid of 24 meters long launching nose. Main challenge was protecting the deck from sliding back during the ILM procedure, which was overcome by choosing suitable technology of pulling with two separate pairs of hollow jacks and two pulling beams. Approximately 4500 tons of reinforced and prestressed concrete was launched in 13 weeks in accordance with time schedule. Besides execution of ILM works, designs for concrete and steel understructure of the casting yard were also provided to the client by Freyssinet Adria construction methods department.

The Atlantic Bridge in Panama: world record for a cable-stayed bridge
August 8th, 2019
Inaugurated on August 2, 2019, the semi-harp cable-stayed bridge called Atlantic Bridge built by VINCI Construction Grands Projets and several of its subsidiaries including Freyssinet in Panama, defies the laws of gravity and forms one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in prestressed concrete of the world.
With a central span of 530 meters, pylons with a height of 212.5 meters and an air draft of 75 meters, it allows the passage of the largest container ships as part of the operation of the expanded Canal and of the vehicles of the 80,000 inhabitants of the coastal communities, regardless of the operation of the locks.

Incremental launching of the Sejanca viaduct
With this construction method each segments of the bridge deck is built in workshop (formwork) placed behind abutment, in this particular case behind lower abutment. Each segment is pulled out of formwork toward final position, after being connected with previous segment via prestresed cables type Freyssinet C range. There are 11 work cycles on the Sejanca viaduct; the lengths of segments are 26 m + 4 x 35 m + 26 m, with the total structure length of 192 m.

Pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Savinja river
April 18th, 2019
A new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Savinja river near Tremerje had been solemnly opened on Saturday, 13th April. 92 meters long steel truss construction crosses Savinja river in one 80 m span. Total deck width is 4,6 m. Main truss tubes are Ø406,4x25 mm. Reinforced concrete abutments are supported with 4 bored Ø100 cm piles.
Freyssinet Adria team supplied and prestressed 16 prefabicated anchors Freyssinet Freyssibar FB50 (Ø50 mm, L = 3,4 m) with which the steel structure is connected to the abutments. In addition, Freyssinet Adria also supplied and installed both Freyssinet WRB50 expansion joints (L = 3,8 m) for the bridge.
